…..Chloe was and still is, the “Great Love of our Life!” Chloe came to us through the Humane Society of Boulder. When we visited the Humane Society and came upon Chloe, she placed her whole body smack against the cage, so that she could be touched. It was through that touch that we “Fell in Love.” After a few visits, and walking her at the Society, we took Chloe home with us.
…..Her Countenance was one of Serenity and Peace. Oh, Yes, there were a few times that she took on the characteristics of a “Marley Dog”, swiping a cube of butter off the counter that was going to be used for chocolate chip cookies!! Another time, she got the bag of pancake mix and had it all over the living room, saliva mixed in with it!!! Another time, a whole bag of flour, in the same state as the pancake mix! You see, Chloe, was a German Shepherd Black Lab Mix and she could stand up to the kitchen counter, and if things weren’t way back off the counter, whatever it was, was hers!!
…..Chloe loved the water. Several years back, we lived at a place that had a park across the street. When it rained, ducks would come and swim there. Well, it was a place for Chloe too. Jim, my husband, would stand on one side of “the lake”, myself on the other side, and we would call her from side to side – and she would come bounding through the water, having a glorious, splashing good time of it!!!
…..I don’t think Chloe had any idea of how large she was, as she insisted on sleeping with us in our queen-sized bed!! Then, we bought her own bed and she soon acquiesed to “this is my bed, now!”
…..Chloe ate all naturel food: Fresh meat, steamed rice, veggies, oil and then later, a splash of Chicken Broth. She loved to eat!!
…..Cupid, our cat, was guarded by Chloe when we four went out for a walk. Don’t any dog come close to Cupid, and Chloe would let them know about it!
…..Chloe would look right in our eyes with such LOVE-ing. She was a Lover, Personified!! She is a SWEET AND LOVING SOUL. Her Essence will always be with us. Our Hearts and Her Heart are melded forever.
